Now that you have a website of your very own, reflect about your own website and what you will change and what you dislike.

WOW!!!!  Never in a million years would I thought I would have put together such an elaborate website.  Granted it took several hours and days to accomplish, but I am very proud about it’s outcome.  As a future educator I would like to add assignments, homework help and other categories for my students.  However, it is difficult to add that to my website at this time as I am not teaching at this stage.   I would also like to add photos of class projects and students (when permission is given by guardians).  There is nothing in particular that I disliked about my website personally other than the fact that it was incredibly time consuming.

Take time to view your classmates websites, which three stood out the most to you and why?

The three websites that stood out to me the most were Laura Shaw’s website, Lori Faulkender, and Krystal Dinkel’s website.  I thought that these put a lot of original thought into their websites.  I also feel that their true personality shines through and is well represented into the construct and design of their websites.  Good job girls, they turned out awesome!!!!

What/Who was your favorite podcast presenter and why?

By far my favorite podcast to listen to was KidCast by Dan Schmidtt.  He introduced to me a lot of new tools and websites that I was very familiar with.  I also think that kids would enjoy listening to and watching his podcasts.  He was very competent in his content and it made for easier listening.

What tools do you think you will use personally outside your classroom and why?

Again I think I will more than likely use voicethread and letterpop. Voicethread could also be used to announce engagements, weddings, display parties. I would use letterpop for letters, Christmas cards, and other greetings. I also think that voicethread might be a unique way to send out Christmas greetings as well!!!!

What tools do you think you will use in the future or keep using and why?

I will continue to use voicethread, letterpop, and google notebook. I will continue to use letterpop to create monthly newsletters to send home to parents as a means of getting them more involved in my classroom and to keep them up to date as well. I think letterpop could also be used to send out flyers to remind students and parents alike about upcoming projects, field trips, etc. I hope to incorporate voicethread into my classroom as well. I think it would be awesome if students’ were to publish their own stories onto this tool.
